But the thing that stands out to me is how we are seeing in the media and entertainment more and more athletes who are overcoming the stigma and doing amazing things. Recently a diabetic race car driver qualified for the Indy 500, a diabetic doctor was a winner on the reality show world wide scavenger hunt Amazing Race, showing the world that they have diabetes, diabetes doesn’t have them! Here’s an interview with a diabetic athlete and how she copes with the disease.
